What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores for a website and sends back on each request. Session cookies disappear when you close the browser; persistent cookies stay until their expiry date or until you delete them. Local storage is similar, but the data stays on your device and is never sent to our server by itself.
Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
ex_user | Keeps you signed in. Without it every page would ask for your password. | 30 days | Strictly necessary |
ex_2fa | Holds a half-finished sign-in while you enter your authenticator code, so the password step is not repeated. | Minutes | Strictly necessary |
nx_touch | Remembers the referral code or campaign tag you arrived with, so a sign-up is credited to the right source. | 90 days | Attribution |
nx_vid | A random anonymous ID that lets us count unique visits to this site without identifying you. | 1 year | Analytics (first-party) |
All four are set by this domain only and are not readable by other sites. The session cookie is marked HTTP-only, so page scripts cannot read it.
Browser storage
The account area remembers interface choices in your browser's local storage. None of it leaves your device, and clearing site data resets it.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Hidden balances | Keeps balances masked if you chose to hide them |
| Favourite pairs | Shows your starred markets first |
| Order book and tab choices | Reopens the terminal the way you left it |
| Support chat draft | Keeps an unsent message if the page reloads |
| Seen notifications, cookie notice | Stops the same notice from showing again |
Third-party cookies
None. This site loads no advertising pixels or third-party analytics.
How to control cookies
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / See all site data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Mobile: the same menus exist in the browser's settings on iOS and Android.
Blocking the ex_user cookie makes it impossible to stay signed in. Everything else can be blocked without breaking the account.
